EmuTribe App

Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 27, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how EmuTribe collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the EmuTribe mobile app, website, beta program, cloud features, subscription features, support channels, and related backend services.

EmuTribe is a retro emulator app. The app does not provide games, ROMs, ISOs, BIOS files, firmware files, or copyrighted game content. Users are responsible for using content they are legally allowed to use.

For privacy questions or data rights requests, contact privacy@emutribe.com. For product support, contact support@emutribe.com.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: name or nickname, email address, password hash for email accounts, avatar choice, authentication provider, account identifiers, email verification state, and login/session metadata.

Device and app information: device identifiers generated by the app, platform, app version, operating system, device model, language, region, and diagnostics needed to keep the service secure and working.

Beta and website information: email address, name, signup answers, referral/source information, and messages you voluntarily send through forms or support channels.

Gameplay and app preferences: local app settings, console preferences, video filter choices, save-state metadata, cloud sync state, favorite games, library metadata, and feature usage needed to provide app functionality.

We do not intentionally collect or host your ROMs, ISOs, BIOS files, or copyrighted game files on EmuTribe servers.

3. Google Drive and Cloud Features

If you connect Google Drive, EmuTribe uses Google authorization to provide cloud library and sync features. The app uses the following Google scopes: openid, email/userinfo.email, and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.

The backend stores encrypted Google OAuth token records, authorized scopes, token metadata, and the Google account email needed to show the connection and refresh access.

EmuTribe uses Google Drive access only for files and folders used with the app or selected by the user for EmuTribe features. With drive.file, EmuTribe can create and access only files created by the app or files the user chooses to open or share with the app. Cloud ROM files are downloaded directly for local use when you choose to open them; EmuTribe does not store your ROM file contents on EmuTribe servers.

Save states and related sync data may be created, updated, or deleted in Google Drive when you use sync features. You can disconnect Google Drive in the app and can also revoke access in your Google account settings.

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

EmuTribe Pro is offered through Apple App Store and Google Play in-app purchases. Apple and Google process payment details. EmuTribe does not receive your full payment card number or store account password.

To verify subscriptions and provide Pro entitlements, we process purchase and entitlement data such as product IDs, package names, bundle IDs, base plan IDs, purchase tokens, linked purchase tokens, order IDs, GPA IDs, transaction IDs, original transaction IDs, appAccountToken, Google obfuscated account identifiers, subscription state, expiry dates, cancellation/refund/revocation state, and store server notification payloads.

We use this data to link a purchase to the correct EmuTribe account, prevent fraud, restore purchases across devices, keep entitlements in sync, handle support requests, reconcile webhook notifications, and satisfy legal/accounting obligations.

If a store notification and an app request report the same purchase, we may process both through our backend to make sure your subscription is not lost if a device loses connectivity.

5. Support, Security, and Logs

If you contact us, we collect the contact information and message content you provide, plus any diagnostic details needed to resolve the request.

We keep security logs, audit logs, IP address metadata, request metadata, webhook processing records, and error diagnostics to protect accounts, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, and keep the service reliable.

Sensitive operational values such as full purchase tokens, private keys, OAuth tokens, and full signed payloads are treated as restricted data and should not be exposed in public logs or user-facing screens.

6. Third-Party Services

EmuTribe may use third-party services to operate the app and website, including hosting providers, email providers, Google APIs, Google Play Developer API, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Apple App Store Server API, App Store Server Notifications, Firebase or Crashlytics if enabled, and RetroAchievements if you choose to connect that service.

These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy practices. We use them only as needed to provide app functionality, security, diagnostics, support, subscriptions, cloud features, or communications.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use subscription purchase data, Google Drive data, or ROM/library data for third-party advertising.

7. How We Use Information

We use information to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, provide emulator app features, provide cloud and Google Drive features, verify subscriptions, unlock Pro features, restore purchases, sync entitlements, provide support, send important service messages, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve reliability.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on legal bases such as contract performance, user authorization or consent, legitimate interests in security and service operation, and legal obligations related to purchases, accounting, fraud prevention, or compliance.

8. Retention

We keep account data while your account exists. We keep Google Drive token records until you disconnect Google Drive, delete your account, or the records are no longer needed.

We may retain subscription, purchase, transaction, webhook, audit, and support records for as long as reasonably necessary for entitlement integrity, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and security.

When data is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or minimize it where practical and legally allowed.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection where these rights apply under laws such as LGPD, GDPR, or other applicable privacy laws.

You may disconnect Google Drive in the app or revoke Google access from your Google account. You may manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.

To make a privacy request, email privacy@emutribe.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing account or deletion requests. Some purchase or security records may be retained when required for legal, accounting, fraud prevention, or security reasons.

10. Children

EmuTribe is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, unless a later published policy says otherwise. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to EmuTribe, contact privacy@emutribe.com so we can review and take appropriate action.

11. International Transfers

EmuTribe is a global app. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including Brazil, the United States, European countries, and countries where our service providers operate.

When required, we use appropriate legal and organizational measures for international transfers.

12. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encrypted transport, restricted access, token encryption where applicable, audit logging, and operational controls.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, contact support@emutribe.com.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, backend, store requirements, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

If a change is material, we may provide additional notice in the app, by email, or through the store listing where appropriate.
